This is an extremely rare Keith Murray shape 3884 beaker vase. What makes it particularly rare is that it is thrown in black basalt and then has had the grey glaze applied. There are very few Keith Murray black basalt vases that have been glazed suggesting that this was an early trial piece and not put into production. Further evidence that this was a trial piece comes from the last two photos which show a one-off trial shape that was sold in the USA a few years ago which has the same grey glaze over a black basalt body and has the Keith Murray stamp on it's base.

The beaker vase does not have the Keith Murray stamp but has the appropriate "Wedgwood" "Made in England" and Thrower's Mark from the 1930s.

The vase is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or nibbles to the footrim. It is also completely clean inside (although my photo isn't good at showing this).

As with all Keith Murray beaker vases it is 4 inches tall and is 3.5 inches wide.

If you are not completely happy with it, I will gladly provide a full refund.
